ISO Standards Amendment Information
- Amd 1:2024 (Climate Action Changes) -

On February 23, 2024, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF), in response to the London Declaration, published a revised standard requiring management systems to take action to address climate change.

*London Declaration : Support for climate action in global standards officially signed at the 2021 London ISO Week, where standards-related organizations from 163 countries gathered together led by the British Standard Institute (BSI) and the International Standard Organization (ISO) and declaration to achieve

ISO and IAF's decision actively supports the organizations' participation in activities that demonstrate the world's interest and commitment to climate change.

Therefore, organizations that currently require or are maintaining management system certification must implement revisions by considering the following additional matters.

Amendments

**The following sentences have been added to the exi.

4.1 Understanding the organization and its context.
The organization shall determine external and internal issues that are relevant to its purpose and that affect its ability to achieve the intended result(s) of its management system.
The organization shall determine whether climate change is a relevant issue.

4.2 Understanding the needs and expectations of interested parties.

The organization shall determine:

a) the interested parties that are relevant to the XXX management system, b) the relevant requirements of these interested parties. c) Which of these requirements will be addressed through the XXX management system
Note: Relevant interested parties can have requirements related to climate change.

Environmental pollution problems that arise during the challenges and growth of companies and organizations around the world are blocking progress toward a sustainable future.

Climate change solutions for a healthy future are challenges facing the world, and innovative strategies are urgently needed.

Activities for climate change can prevent unnecessary waste of not only environmental and human resources, but also economic resources, and serve as a basis for realizing organizational objectives in various fields.
